My mother kicked me out of the house, what legal steps would I take to get my stuff back?

I am 18 years of age, and planned on moving out anyway, but not so suddenly. She told me when I left that I could only take stuff that friends had given me and that I had an hour to do so. 20 minutes later she forced me to leave. So I did not have my SSC, birth certificate, passport and barley any clothes. All I want is to legally get back to the house, preferably with a police escort, and get my stuff. So..how would I go about doing so?
