I have a Halo 2 CD key, how do i download the game legitimately?

Yeah my friend who lives across the country gave me his cd key, and he doesnt want to ship it, and i dont wanna wait weeks either, does anyone know how i can activate the code and download on live, or a place where i can download it LEGALLY anywhere?
