Why do people think that God Almighty sends them to hell for not believing in him?

Sin separates us from God. We send ourselves to Hell for sinning and for rejecting and not excepting God's gift of salvation. Sin must be punished, think of a law breaking child. God sent his son to die, so that all might be saved through him. He is all sufficient, yet he died for us and desires us. He is a loving God.
