How much does it cost to just have a car "looked at" to see what needs to be fixed?

I have a '69 Volkswagen beetle thats been sitting for a few years. It was running before it went to rest. My father who is no mechanic did a little tinkering but still couldn't get it to run, and I myself know nothing about cars. Its immobile, so is there a way to have someone come over and tell me whats wrong with it? I have nobody that could help me with it, no friends or family who know anything lol. How much would it cost to just have it looked at?
