How many courts did Tinker vs. Des Moines have to go through before it went to the Supreme Court?

I'm doing a school project on Tinker vs. Des Moines and I have to make a graphic organizer. I chose to do a timeline on the events that led up to the supreme court case. I have the basics however I need to include the courts before the Supreme Court. If you know the first court it went to, the appeals court and their dates I would greatly appreciate it. If you know any more events that led up to it please feel free to tell me. If you sited them it would be perfect but necessary. Thank you
