How can I own a pet hedgehog legally in the state of California?

I've been asking my parents if I could own a pet hedgehog for a while and my dad finally said yes.He told me to look on the internet for a hedgehog that was being sold in California.I thought hedgehogs were legal until I searched it up.I understand hedgehogs are illegal in the entire state of California but some museums have a hedgehog in one of their exhibits.Is there any way for me to get some sort of permit to own a pet hedgehog in California?And if I do get one from another state like Nevada will a vet treat it even if it is not legal?
